The Bell County Sheriff’s Department arrested two teenagers it claims are responsible for a string of burglaries in a rural area south of Killeen.

Deputies charged Lane Michael Reed, 18, and Christopher Moore, 17, with burglary of a habitation.

Lt. Donnie Adams said investigators believe Reed and Moore burglarized four homes on Shady Loop between Thursday and Sunday. Deputies arrested the two suspects on Monday after finding some stolen property in their possession.

Their bail was set at $25,000 each.

Deputies are also investigating multiple reported shootings in the Shady Loop area during the same time frame. Unknown suspects fired multiple shots at cars parked on the street.

Adams said no affirmative connection has been made between the burglaries and the shootings. However, one of the burglaries for which Reed and Moore allegedly committed involved a stolen weapon.
