The Killeen Fire Department responded to a report of a car fire in the 3200 block of Baldwin Loop at 2:55 a.m. today to the find the interior of the vehicle on fire.

"The fire was minimal and didn't spread, but the car itself was a total loss," Chris Mahlstedt with the Killeen Fire Marshal's office said. "We do believe this was an intentionally started fire."

Mahlstedt said that, while vandalism of this nature does "occur all the time," officials believe this to be an isolated incident.

"The investigation is ongoing, but we already have a suspect and several more interviews to conduct today," he said.

The suspect has not been charged with a crime and has not been identified at this time. Mahlstedt said more information would be released as the investigation continued.
