The victim of a gunshot wound was in the hospital Wednesday after an early-morning shooting left him with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 1100 block of North 18th Street at 1:03 a.m. Wednesday in response to a call of shots fired, according to Killeen Police Department spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez. They found a man with a gunshot wound and he was taken to Baylor Scott & White.
The case is ongoing and remains under investigation, Miramontez said.
A preliminary investigation determined the shooting happened during a verbal altercation between the victim and a female suspect, when at some point the victim was shot.
Officers are looking for three suspects wanted in connection with the shooting, according Miramontez.
The first suspect is described as a dark-skinned, black woman wearing unknown clothing.
The second suspect is described as a thin, dark-skinned black man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and last seen wearing white shirt and khaki pants.
The third suspect is described as a thin, light-skinned black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, last seen wearing a red shirt.
