BELTON — A Bell County grand jury Wednesday indicted a former Salado Independent School District teacher who is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student on felony charges.

The grand jury indicted Lisa Marie Wagnon on charges of sexual assault and improper relationship between educator and student.

Wagnon, 48, resigned from a teaching position at Salado Intermediate School the day after administrators and sheriff’s deputies learned that Wagnon had been accused of having sex with a student.

A 15-year-old male student told authorities Oct. 22 that a week prior, Wagnon had picked him up from Salado High School and taken him to her home in Belton, where they had sexual intercourse, an arrest affidavit stated. The two had sexual intercourse on two occasions, the teenager told deputies.

The student provided investigators with access to his Facebook account, where they were able to read incriminating messages between Wagnon and the boy, the affidavit stated.

Wagnon turned herself in to Travis County authorities on Oct. 24, where she quickly posted bond. If convicted of either charge, Wagnon could face up to 20 years in prison.
