WACO — A federal grand jury has indicted a Fort Hood soldier on multiple counts of possession of child pornography.

Spc. Julian William Velasco IV faces three counts of possession of visual depictions of sexual activities by minors, one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography, according to court documents.

Velasco, 30, is an infantryman assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.

One of the alleged offenses took place while Velasco was stationed at Marez, Iraq, in 2009 while another took place in Adder, Iraq, in 2011. The remaining offenses took place in late 2011 in Texas, according to Velasco's indictment.

Authorities arrested Velasco on Sept. 11 on Fort Hood. He entered a not guilty plea outside of court on Sept. 16. A federal judge ordered Velasco be held in a federal facility on Tuesday.

His trial is tentatively set for Nov. 18 at the federal court in Waco.
