A female Fort Hood soldier remained hospitalized Monday after a two-vehicle motorcycle accident outside of Holland, a small town in east Bell County on Saturday, left a fellow Fort Hood solider dead.

Jameel Barron, 20, of Killeen, died about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, after his motorcycle collided with the motorcycle of Stephanie Young, 24, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Young, also a Killeen resident, was transported to Scott & White Hospital in Temple, where she remains in critical condition.

The two soldiers were riding separate motorcycles Saturday on Farm-to-Market 2268 when they hit a curb and collided with each other, DPS trooper Harpin Myers said.

Both motorcyclists were wearing helmets at the time of the collision.
