CRIME

A fraud case and another involving a skimmer found on a gas pump were reported at the same location in Copperas Cove on the same day in August, but for now, they’re separate cases, Copperas Cove police spokesman Sgt. Martin Ruiz said Friday.

Both offenses happened Aug. 4 at the A-Stop Convenience Store, 2102 S. Farm-to-Market 116 in Copperas Cove.

“It is possible (they’re related) but right now it is a different incident,” Ruiz said in an email.

Police are asking for help with both cases. Anyone with information should contact the Copperas Cove Crime Stoppers at 254-547-1111. Tips are anonymous and also can be made at tipsubmit.com. Tips leading to an arrest and prosecution could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
