BELTON — A Killeen teen was indicted on a felony charge of robbery by a Bell County grand jury Wednesday.
The charge against Diondre Joe Middleton, 17, of Killeen, stems from a Dec. 16 robbery in Harker Heights.
According to an arrest affidavit, the victim made arrangements with a man to purchase a cellphone for $50 via Facebook before the robbery.
The victim said he and a female then met the man at Purser Family Park for the purchase of the phone.
At the park, the victim approached a vehicle and saw a man, later identified as Middleton, sitting in the passenger seat.
The victim approached Middleton with $50 in-hand.
Middleton punched the victim in the face, and took the money, the affidavit stated. A woman who was with the victim recognized the man, identified him as Middleton and told police she heard he had been robbing people for their cellphones.
After Middleton was arrested in connection with another robbery, he admitted to meeting with the victim in the park.
