Trevon Anthony Armstrong

A 21-year-old man was arrested Thursday on a charge of sexual assault of a child under the age of 17 by Harker Heights police.

Trevon Anthony Armstrong, 21, is charged with raping a 15-year-old girl in a room at the Studio 7 Hotel at 480 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd.

On Aug. 3, an officer was sent to Seton Medical Center in regards to a runaway girl. The officer met with the girl, whose shirt was torn, and had been reported as a runaway two days earlier, according to an affidavit for arrest.

The girl told officers she was drinking alcohol with friends when she met Armstrong, and went back to his hotel room with him, according to the affidavit.

During an interview at the Child Advocacy Center, the girl said she drank a glass of vodka that was handed to her, and then woke up naked, according to the affidavit. Armstrong was videotaping her with his phone and striking her with his hands and she was bleeding.

An exam was conducted, and the girl had signs of trauma, police said.

Police learned in their investigation that a hotel room at the Studio 7 Hotel had been rented by Armstrong the night of the reported incident, and he was seen leaving the hotel with the girl, who was crying, about midnight, according to the affidavit.

Armstrong was identified by the girl as the person who sexually assaulted her in a photo lineup, according to the affidavit.

Armstrong is in the Bell County Jail on $100,000 bond.

In an unrelated case, D’Angelo Devon Johnson was arraigned on a charge of possession of marijuana, 5 pounds or less but more than four ounces. He is in the Bell County Jail on $100,000 bond.
