The Harker Heights Police Department is seeking a suspect wanted in connection with the murder that took place Saturday evening, according to a news release issued by Police Department spokesman Stephen Miller.
Joseph Manuel Blas, 26, is a suspect in the murder of Thomas Raymond West, 35, that took place in the 1000 block of Indian Trail around 6:46 p.m., police said. Blas is being considered a fugitive and the department is asking for help in locating him, according to the police report.
Police are also looking for a second man who is believed to have information related to the murder. Heights police believe the second man is named Cliff and lives in Killeen.
On Saturday, about 6:46 p.m., officers received a call of shots fired in the 1000 block of Indian Trail. Officers arrived almost immediately to see West lying on the ground and bleeding from entry and exit gunshot wounds in the abdomen and hip, according to Harker Heights police.
When EMS arrived they attempted life-saving measures, but the man died on the scene, according to the report. The individual was pronounced deceased by Bell County Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.
