COPPERAS COVE - Copperas Cove police and the Bell County Organized Crime Unit executed a search warrant on a business at 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Cove police began an investigation of The Parlor at Five Hills, 181 W. Business Highway 190, Suite 3, after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen, according to a press release from Sgt. Kevin Miller, CCPD spokesman.

The police investigation confirmed the business was operating illegally.

When the search warrant was executed, 14 people were identified in the business, along with one employee, Miller said.

The investigation continues and charges will be filed upon its conclusion.

I'm surprised the police found this one. I don't patronize any of the 12 (or so) ILLEGAL gambling locations in this area. In fact, one is right in what USED to be downtown KILLzone behind the HEB in an old gas station. I think it has a clothing sign outside. Most of these joints are owned by people commuting from Austin. They operate with impunity, maybe immunity. I can't say, but I know they operate. Did this one's owner FORGET to contribute this week?
