Judge to make a decision in November in Copperas Cove manslaughter case

Updated

GATESVILLE — The 52nd District judge is scheduled to make a decision on Nov. 18 in a Copperas Cove manslaughter case.

David Tamuno Tonye Pelebo, 28, pleaded guilty in court Thursday to a manslaughter charge.

On March 23 2011, Pelebo called police about a shooting of Maria Andrade, 23 at the time, who police discovered lying on the bed with a gunshot wound to the head. At the time of the incident, Pelebo admitted he accidentally shot Andrade while they were lying in bed with what he believed was an unloaded gun.

After day and half of court proceedings on Thursday, Judge Trent Farrell requested to a hold a pre-sentence investigation.

The probation department will collect social, economic and criminal information about Pelebo to present to Farrell before he makes his sentencing decision.
