Killeen police are seeking the public's help in catching the person who robbed one and maybe two Killeen businesses Thursday night.

At 8:30 p.m. a black male about 5 feet, 6 inches tall wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt, red bandana and dark-colored pants entered a Family Dollar store in the 2300 block of West Stan Schlueter Loop and demanded money. He fled on foot without any money, Killeen Police Department spokeswoman Carroll Smith said.

About 15 minutes later, a black male wearing similar clothing robbed a Star Mart in the 700 block of Old Farm-to-Market 440, about two miles from the Family Dollar. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Smith said there is a possibility the same man robbed both stores, given the similar descriptions of the robber. However, she could not say the two robberies were definitively connected.

No surveillance photos of the robber are available, Smith said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the robber to call Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-TIPS (8477), go online at www.killeencrimestoppers.com or text a tip to KILLEEN plus the tip to CRIMES (274637). All information is confidential and a tip resulting in an arrest is eligible for a $1,000 reward.
