BELTON — A Killeen teen was indicted on a felony charge Wednesday after police said he brought a handgun to school earlier this month.
Brandon Tiontre Woods, 17, was indicted by a Bell County grand jury on a charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon on school premises.
According to an arrest affidavit, Killeen Independent School District police responded to a report of an individual with a gun at Killeen High School on Friday.
An officer spoke with Woods, who admitted he had a firearm in his backpack. Police recovered a .38-caliber pistol, the affidavit stated. Woods is the second KHS student to be indicted on a weapons charge for bringing a gun on campus this year.
On Jan. 30, 17-year-old Jonathon Allen Hampton was arrested after police found a .22-caliber pistol, ammunition and a ski mask in a backpack in his locker.
Hampton was indicted March 19 by a Bell County grand jury on a felony charge of possession of a prohibited weapon.

Amber Nicole Booker, 25, of Killeen, on a charge of abandoning/endangering a child with intent to return.
Kimberly Ann Lewis-Martin, 47, of Killeen, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, 1 gram or more.
Russell Gerard Fair, 38, of Killeen, on a charge of possession of cocaine, 1 gram or more.
Hector Luis Colon, 39, of Killeen, on a charge of evading arrest with a motor vehicle.
Geraldo Ashford-Laquinn Byers, 25, of Killeen, on a charge of assault on a family/household member, strangulation.
Diantis Lynn Roberts, 17, of Killeen, on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Darius Jonathan Corporal, 17, of Killeen, on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Armando Reyes Gamez, 50, of Killeen, on a charge of theft, enhanced.
Danny Lynn Hawkins II, 26, of Harker Heights, on a charge of driving while intoxicated, third or more offense.
Timothy Ivery Smith, 56, of Killeen, on a charge of driving while intoxicated, third or more offense.
