A Killeen man was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke on Thursday on a charge of aggravated assault, threatening bodily injury with a deadly weapon.
Mario Castruita Jr., 18, was arrested on his birthday Tuesday afternoon in the 900 block of East Veterans Memorial Boulevard after he was accused of pointing a gun at a woman.
A woman said that a man driving a gray Jeep Patriot was following her closely on Veterans Memorial Boulevard, so she tapped on her brakes, according to the arrest affidavit. Castruita then pulled up his vehicle alongside the woman and showed a gun, police said.
The woman hit the brakes. When she did, she saw Castruita point a black handgun out the driver’s side window toward her car. She then called 911, according to the affidavit.
There were three people in the car at the time of the incident, including a child.
Officers found Castruita’s Jeep using the license plate number the woman provided. She described a man wearing glasses with tattoos on his arms and a white shirt, and she later picked him out of a photo lineup.
Castruita is in the Bell County Jail on $100,000 bond.
In an unrelated case, Konique Roshelle Williams was arraigned on a charge of injury to a child by criminal negligence. She is held in the Bell County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
