Police arrested an 18-year-old Killeen man after he reportedly used a pellet gun to hold up a local couple for an iPhone.
Omar Martin Nestor was arraigned in a Killeen courtroom Monday on robbery charges by Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin.
According to police reports, Nestor met with a woman and her husband Sunday under the pretense of buying a white iPhone with a cracked screen the two had listed on Craigslist. Nestor met with the couple at the Pleaseant View Mobile Home Park in the 300 block of South Amy Lane in Harker Heights using a fake name.
When the couple allowed him to examine the phone, Nestor allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at the man’s head. Nestor fled the scene after the man pulled out his own firearm.
Nestor was found by Harker Heights Police Department officers in a nearby mobile home park and was taken into custody. Police also found Nestor’s backpack, which contained clothes, the iPhone and a pellet gun that “looked very much like a firearm,” according to police reports.
Nestor’s bail was set at $100,000.
