A Killeen man was in critical condition Monday after two men knocked on his door and shot him Sunday night, according to police.
The Killeen Police Department responded to a call of shots fired just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Evergreen Drive, said Ofelia Miramontez, police department spokeswoman. When officers arrived, the victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds.
When the victim opened his door after hearing a knock, two men gave him a name and asked if he knew the person, Miramontez said. The victim told the men he didn’t know the person, and they shot him.
The victim was transported to Fort Hood’s Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, Miramontez said. Following the shooting, the gunmen, described by police as two black males, ran in an unknown direction.
