A Killeen man was arraigned on four separate criminal charges by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke on Thursday.

Andrew Mohan Ballantine Jr., 28, was in the Bell County Jail on $72,000 bond. Charges include: criminal mischief, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance — one each out of Bell and Coryell counties.

On Wednesday, an officer went to the 100 block North Roy Reynolds Drive after receiving a call about a man in the area with a rifle. When he arrived, he saw Ballantine outside with a baseball bat instead of a rifle, according to the arrest affidavit.

The officer ran Ballantine’s name through his computer system and found he had outstanding arrest warrants, the affidavit said.

While searching him, the officer pulled out two bags filled with a white substance, according to the affidavit. Officers field tested the substance in the bag, and it came back as positive for methamphetamine.
