BELTON — A Killeen man pleaded guilty to murder Monday morning in Bell County 264th District Court for fatally shooting and stabbing a woman at his residence.
Daniel Lorenzo Wilson, 41, pleaded guilty to killing Karen Louise Edwards, 43, on Dec. 9 in his apartment in the 900 block of Mimosa Street.
According to an arrest affidavit, Wilson shot Edwards three times, then stabbed and cut her with “a sword” after a verbal altercation.
The report stated Wilson then forced a witness to help drag Edwards’ body to an abandoned nearby residence. The witness escaped and called the Killeen police.
Wilson was taken into custody after a two-hour standoff with the Killeen SWAT team.
The arrest report stated officers found a large amount of blood in Wilson’s apartment and they seized several knives and swords.
Wilson said Edwards went to the apartment and “knew how to push my buttons,” according to the affidavit.
Wilson’s sentencing is set for Sept. 16. He could face up to life in prison.
