A man who Killeen police said shot his friend was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Monday.

Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin arraigned Tariq Iqbal Khan, 25, on the charge, which stemmed from a shooting incident that occurred Friday.

According to an arrest affidavit, police were called to a residence to respond to a report of a shooting. At the location, officers found a male victim who had been shot in the neck.

The officers also recovered a .45-caliber pistol and a spent cartridge at the scene. The officer then identified Khan, and determined that he owned the gun, the affidavit stated.
