A Killeen man is facing a felony assault charge after he allegedly bit off a man’s ear during a fight.

Larry Deon Moore Jr., 40, was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of aggravated assault by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke, who set Moore’s bail at $100,000.

Moore was arrested Sunday after an altercation with another man at an apartment complex in the 3200 block of Cantabrian Drive about 3:30 a.m., according to an arrest affidavit.

A woman told police she was having a argument with her boyfriend and called Moore over to “assist” her.

After Moore arrived, the two men got into a fight.

Moore told police he bit a piece of the man’s ear off during the fight and spit it into some bushes in the front yard.

Officers contacted the man and observed he had about 40 percent of his ear missing. The man said he fled the scene after Moore bit his ear off.
