A Killeen teen is facing a murder charge after police said he gunned down a man with a shotgun Saturday night.
Damarcus Kardel Bronner, 17, was arraigned Sunday on a charge of first-degree murder by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.
According to an arrest affidavit, Bronner told police that he and another individual were attempting to rob the victim, 35-year-old Jorge Ramirez Jr., when the shooting occurred.
During the confrontation, Ramirez was able to get to his vehicle, and was attempting to drive off when Bronner shot at the vehicle.
Police found Ramirez in his vehicle, which was stopped in the roadway in the 4600 block of Lonesome Dove Dr., suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Hospital, where he later died.
Bronner is currently in Bell County Jail. His bond is set at $1 million.
