Killeen teen indicted on murder charge

BELTON — A Killeen teenager accused of gunning down a man with a shotgun in April was indicted by a Bell County grand jury Wednesday afternoon.

De’Marcus Kar’del Bronner, 17, was indicted on a first-degree felony charge of murder in connection with the April 26 death of 35-year-old Jorge Ramirez Jr.

According to an arrest affidavit, Bronner told police he and another individual were attempting to rob Ramirez when the shooting occurred in the 3400 block of Stan Schlueter Loop.

During the confrontation, Ramirez was able to get to his vehicle and was attempting to drive off when Bronner shot at the vehicle. Police found Ramirez in his vehicle, which was stopped in the 4600 block of Lonesome Dove Drive, suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to Fort Hood’s Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, where he later died.

As of Wednesday, no other arrests have been made in connection with Ramirez’s death.

In convicted, Bronner could face life in prison.

The grand jury also indicted the following:

Mary Smith, 44, of Killeen, on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.

Vincentlee Leequituga Presto, 41, of Killeen, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, less than 1 gram.

Austin Kent Wagner, 17, of Nolanville, on a charge of theft of a firearm.

Donald Daniel Egan, 36, of Killeen, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, less than 1 gram.

Melvin Janus Hentz Jr., 30, of Columbus, Ga., fraudulent use of identifying information.

Edwin James Burton, 33, of Killeen, on a charge of accident involving injury, failure to stop and render aid.

Tracy Jay Alejandro, 30, of Copperas Cove, on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.

Darren Jarvin, 35, of Killeen, on a charge of evading arrest with a motor vehicle.

Charles Eric Pasley, 56, of Killeen, on a charge of assault on a family/household member, strangulation.

Deandre Lavon Makekau Adams, 18, of Killeen, on a charge of burglary of a habitation.

Roberto Jay Silvas, 17, of Killeen, on a charge of burglary of a habitation.

Robert William Foster, 27, of Killeen, on a charge of theft, enhanced.

Justin Dwight Stonum, 33, of Copperas Cove, on a charge of assault on a family/household member with a previous conviction.

Christopher Michael Book, 26, of Killeen, on a charge of driving while intoxicated, third or more offense.
