Killeen police have identified the victim as 36-year-old SungJin Farris.
Police also said that detectives determined that the incident was not a drive-by shooting.
Police continue to interview witnesses and possible suspects.
A 36-year-old man is dead after a drive-by shooting early Wednesday morning in Killeen.
Officers responded to a call of a drive-by shooting at 2:09 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Wolf Street in Killeen.
Upon arrival, officers located the man, who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest.
The victim was immediately transported to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:47 a.m. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of his next kin.
Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are still processing the scene and investigating the shooting.
