Killeen police arrested a 21-year-old man they said was found passed out in the driver’s seat of a car parked at a 7-Eleven.

Police charged Steven Paul Puckett with possession of cocaine, more than 1 gram but less than 4 grams after finding 2.8 grams of suspected cocaine in his car Thursday morning.

Officers responded to a call of an unconscious male just before 8 a.m. Thursday at the 7-Eleven located in the 600 block of South Fort Hood Street.

When they arrived, they found a man later identified as Puckett sleeping in the car with his head resting on the driver’s side window.

Police woke Puckett and saw he had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. Officers then asked Puckett to exit his vehicle and saw a substance that field tested positive as cocaine in a plastic bag sitting in the inside door handle.

Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin arraigned Puckett on Friday, setting his bail at $25,000.
