Killeen police arrested a 21-year-old man they say struck a woman in the face numerous times, causing fractures to her skull and injuries that will require surgery.

Lawshawn Marquise Lewis remained in Bell County Jail on Monday night with bail set at $100,000 on a charge of burglary of a habitation.

The charge stems from an alleged break-in Saturday at a home at an unspecified address in Killeen, according to an arrest affidavit.

A witness told police he saw Lewis force a door to the residence open and strike a woman several times in the face. During the alleged assault, Lewis also threatened the witness by pointing a gun at him, the affidavit stated.

Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin arraigned Lewis on Sunday.

Potvin also arraigned the following:

Angie Kerr, 36, on a charge of aggravated assault. Kerr’s bail was set at $100,000.

Clyde Maurice Williams, 29, on a charge of possession of marijuana, 5 pounds or less but more than 4 ounces. Williams’ bail was set at $50,000.

Jason Daniel Gonzalez, 30, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, 1 gram or more but less than 4 grams. Gonzalez’s bail was set at $30,000.

Mykael Donnell Lane, 28, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, 1 gram or more but less than 4 grams. Lane’s bail was set at $30,000.
