Killeen police arrested a 35-year-old sex offender they say hurt a child.

Harker Heights resident Anthony James Hill was arraigned Thursday on a charge of injury to a child in connection with an incident in which he allegedly grabbed a 10-year-old boy.

The alleged incident happened Dec. 23 near the intersection of 38th Street and Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Killeen police spokeswoman Carroll Smith said.

Hill grabbed the boy, causing him pain, an arrest affidavit stated. The boy got free from Hill and ran home, where he told his parents about the incident.

Hill remained in Bell County Jail on Thursday night, with bail set at $100,000.

A records search showed Hill was convicted of two charges of indecency with a child by sexual conduct and a charge of indecency with a child by exposure in 2001.

He was sentenced to eight years in prison and is required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
