Standoff in south Killeen

Police vehicles are seen near a standoff in south Killeen Thursday.

UPDATE, 2:30 p.m.: The man came out of the home. No injuries were reported.

UPDATE, 2:19 p.m.: Killeen police got a call at 12:52 p.m. for a domestic disturbance with weapons. A female escaped the residence, but was not able to retrieve her 3-year-old son.

A Hispanic male in his 30s remained inside with the child and is armed, according to police. The neighborhood has been evacuated. SWAT is on scene.

The Killeen police SWAT team is in a standoff situation with a man in a house on the 400 block of Taures Drive in south Killeen.

According to initial radio reports, a man was described as holding a baby while armed.

The Killeen Daily Herald has a reporter at the scene.
