UPDATE 2:04 p.m. Police said the robbery occurred just before 1 p.m. today when a man walked into the bank and handed the teller a note.
Police spokeswoman Carroll Smith did not state specially what the note said, but confirmed that the man made threats.
The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of money before he fled on foot. He is still at large, Smith said.
The suspect was described as a "50-ish" white male with "scruffy" hair. He is unshaven and wearing glasses and a red hat with the word "Titleist." Smith said the suspect was also wearing a gray-colored shirt and a dark-colored vest, as well as light-colored denim pants and black Nike shoes.
He is believed to be armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees him is asked to call the Killeen Police Department or Bell County Crime Stoppers.
A bank in Killeen was robbed today, according to police.
First National Bank, near the intersection of Stan Schlueter Loop and U.S. Highway 190, was robbed, a Killeen Police Department official said.
