Killeen police arrested a 48-year-old woman they said stole a flute valued at $2,100 from a lost and found at a local taxi company.

Police charged Sharon Rene Hill with theft of property, more than $1,500 but less than $20,000.

Police arrested Hill on Monday at Fort Hood after the theft was reported by the owner of Luxury Cab Company on Aug. 1, according to an arrest affidavit. The flute was placed in the company’s dispatch office after it was left in the backseat of one of the company’s taxis.

The company’s owner and police reviewed surveillance footage and saw a woman later identified as Hill take a case containing the flute and place it in her backpack.

Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin arraigned Hill on Tuesday, setting her bail at $20,000.
