LAMPASAS — Police on Monday released more information about an ambush-style robbery of a Copperas Cove resident that occurred Friday at W.M. Brook Park.
Lampasas police arrested Michael Joseph Abrams Jr., 18, and Arthur Carl Foster, 20, both of Copperas Cove, and Kaelo Sebashian Wildey, 20, and Reco Antonio White, 20, both of San Antonio, on charges of aggravated robbery on Friday. Each received a $20,000 bond.
Police arrived at the park about 9:50 p.m. Friday after a 21-year-old Cove resident reported several men robbed him at gunpoint.
After a 30-minute search of the area using resources from the Lampasas Fire Department, Lampasas County Sheriff’s Department and Texas Department of Public Safety, police found the men and arrested them.
The four men worked together in a preplanned ambush-style robbery of the suspect, who they knew, a Lampasas police news release stated.
Police said the suspects discarded the revolver used in the crime, but it was later found. Police did not say what the men were trying to steal, but the victim was not hurt.
White also was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces in a drug-free zone, and possession of controlled substance in a drug-free zone. He also was wanted on several Copperas Cove misdemeanor warrants. Wildey also was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle.
