A man was arraigned on felony assault charge Thursday after police said he tried to strangle his wife.
Nicholas Michael Young, 25, was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin on a charge of aggravated assault of a family or household member by strangulation.
According to a police report, 911 dispatchers received a call Wednesday and heard a man say, “Get up before I kill you.”
Police were dispatched to a residence in Killeen, and located the suspect. The man, later identified as Young, fled from officers.
He was caught after a short foot pursuit, and appeared to be intoxicated, the affidavit stated.Young’s wife told police there was an argument and Young jumped on her and began choking her. Officers observed an abrasion and bruising on the woman’s throat.
Young’s bail was set at $100,000.
Potvin also arraigned the following individuals on unrelated charges Thursday:
Amber Nichole Booker, 25, on a charge of abandon/endanger of a child with intent to return. Booker’s bail was set at $30,000.
Ripton Adam Vickers, 35, on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with bodily injury. Vickers’ bail was set at $100,000.
