Man arraigned on cocaine charge

Martin Juarez-Nieto, 41, was arraigned in Killeen on Thursday on a charge of possession of cocaine, in an amount of less than 1 gram.

Juarez-Nieto was pulled over by Killeen police Sunday after they observed him commit “numerous” traffic offenses, according to an arrest affidavit.

Juarez-Nieto, who was driving a Chevrolet Impala, did not initially stop for officers, but continued to drive “for a period of time” before turning into an alley.

A police officer observed Juarez-Nieto pull over and throw something out of the front passenger window of the car, the affidavit stated.

The item was a small bag containing what the officers suspected to be cocaine, records stated.

A field testing kit revealed that substance was cocaine.

The amount of cocaine in the bag was about 0.4 grams, the affidavit stated.

His bail was set at $20,000.
