A search of a Killeen residence by police revealed a small amount of methamphetamine.

Killeen police were called to a residence in the 600 block of Carrie Avenue on April 4 on a report of suspicious odor and drug activity.

Inside the home they found two men, one later was identified as 36-year-old Saul Elias Guevara. According to an affidavit, officers said Guevara turned away and walked toward a hallway. The police then heard the sound of a cupboard shutting.

Permission was given to search the cupboard, and police found a plastic bag with a green dollar symbol on it. The bag contained suspected methamphetamine, the affidavit stated. Police also found several more bags with the same symbol in Guevara’s pockets.

The substance tested positive for methamphetamine, according to field testing kit, and had a total weight of 0.9 grams, the affidavit stated.

Guevara was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin on Thursday on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine in an amount of less than 1 gram. Guevara’s bail was set at $20,000.
