A man was arraigned on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle on Wednesday by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.

Robinson Gaspar Perez-Lopez was arrested Monday in a parking lot in the 800 block of North Gray Street.

Police went to the H-E-B grocery store in that area for a stolen car, and spoke with an inventory clerk from Automax who said that car was across the street.

When police approached the car, a woman was standing next to it, according to the affidavit. She told police her boyfriend, Perez-Lopez, was driving.

As Perez-Lopez approached the car, he saw the officers and quickly changed the direction he was walking, according to the affidavit. The woman told police Perez-Lopez told her he bought the car with his tax refund.

Perez-Lopez is out of the Bell County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
