CRIME

A man caught shoplifting at the Harker Heights Walmart on Thursday night has been arrested.

Harker Heights police responded to a call from the store at approximately 11 p.m. Thursday, according to Sgt. Stephen Miller, Heights police spokesman.

A Walmart loss prevention employee had detained a man for shoplifting, and Heights officers issued him a citation for the theft. When the officers checked the man's records, they discovered a city warrant was active for a previous theft.

The man was arrested on that warrant.

Heights police have not released his name.
