COPPERAS COVE — A man who allegedly attacked another man with a pair of scissors was charged with assault.
On Wednesday, Judge William Price arraigned Raymond Joseph Larkin on $5,000 bond on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to police reports, officers responded to a call on Mattie Drive on Tuesday and encountered Larkin, who said he was in fear of his life from another man who was texting him threats of bodily harm.
He was unable to show any of the messages to officers. Larkin allegedly said the man threatening him drove by his house, made an obscene gesture and then turned his vehicle around, throwing a set of keys out the window at Larkin.
Larkin allegedly told police that he approached the man’s vehicle with a pair of scissors to protect himself when an altercation broke out between the two men. Larkin received a laceration to his right palm but could not tell police how he got it.
The other man allegedly told police he was returning a set of business keys to Larkin when he was attacked with the scissors.
