Killeen police arrested a man they said led them on a brief car and foot chase.
Police charged Edward Lee Logue, 26, with evading arrest with a motor vehicle in connection with an incident Friday.
Logue was driving a car in the city limits at an unspecified location when he committed a traffic violation. An officer attempted to stop Logue; however, he drove off at a high rate of speed, according to an arrest affidavit.
Logue attempted to elude the officer by driving recklessly and then jumping from the car while it was still in motion, the affidavit stated.
Police apprehended him shortly after he jumped from the vehicle and took him to Killeen City Jail. Lee was in Bell County Jail on Monday with bail set at $22,500 for the evading charge and a charge from Temple police of theft of service, more than $500 but less than $1,500.
Jail records indicated Lee also is being held on four misdemeanor charges out of Harker Heights and a motion to revoke probation.
Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin also arraigned the following:
Cheryl Renae Farr, 48, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram. Farr’s bail was set at $25,000.
Jalen Wesley Johnson, 18, on a charge of tampering with physical evidence. Johnson’s bail was set at $25,000.
Barbara Jean Robinson, 24, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram. Robinson’s bail was set at $25,000.
