A 25-year-old Killeen man was arrested after medical records showed he intentionally caused a serious injury to a 1-year-old boy’s skull.
Police charged Mark Anthony Robinson with injury to a child for allegedly causing a skull fracture and internal bleeding on the child’s brain.
Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned Robinson on Wednesday, setting his bail at $100,000.
Police believe Robinson was lying when he told police he accidentally injured the child on Aug. 23, an arrest affidavit stated.
Robinson stated he had been spinning the child around in the air like an airplane when the boy’s head struck a dresser.
Medical records indicated the boy suffered from a subdural hematoma, an injury not consistent with accidental trauma, the affidavit stated.
Cooke also arraigned the following:
- Victor Soto, 39, on charges of possession of methamphetamine, 1 gram or more but less than 4 grams, possession of a dangerous drugs, less than 28 grams and possession of marijuana, under 2 ounces. Soto’s bail was set at $38,000.
- Alvin Dewayne Canton, 45, on a charge of evading arrest in a motor vehicle. Canton’s bail was set at $20,000.
