UPDATE: Miramontez reported that the man surrendered to police shortly before 9 a.m. this morning.

Mirimontez also said that that U.S. Marshals were present at the standoff, and that the suspect had at least one outstanding warrant.

KPD has not released the man's name at this time.

The woman who was inside the home with the suspect was unharmed.

Killeen police deployed a tactical response unit to the scene of a domestic disturbance Friday morning.

Officers responded to a call in the 2700 block of Armadillo Drive around 3 a.m. After arriving to find that the suspect was no longer at the home, Killeen police cleared the scene,  Ofelia Miramontez, department spokeswoman, said.

A short time later, KPD received a call alerting them that the man had returned to the home. Officers arrived on scene and attempted to convince the suspect to come outside, but he refused, Miramontez said.

KPD deployed a tactical unit to the home at about 7 a.m., and as of 8:45 a.m., the man was still inside with the woman who made the call. Miramontez said the disturbance involved a weapon, although she did not know specific details as to what type of weapon.
