Man indicted in assault case

BELTON — A Holland man who police said forced another man to drive at gunpoint was indicted Wednesday.

A Bell County grand jury indicted Michael Robert Martinez, 30, on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.

Martinez was arrested Dec. 26 by Harker Heights police officers.

Officers were investigating a report of a disturbance, and pulled over a vehicle after they noticed its lights were off, according to an arrest affidavit.

The driver told police Martinez, who was a passenger, pointed a gun at him and forced him to drive and chase down some unknown individuals, the affidavit stated.

The victim also claimed Martinez threw the pistol out the window of the car, the affidavit stated. Police later recovered the weapon, a .22 caliber revolver, and found drugs and drug paraphernalia on Martinez. Martinez is in Bell County Jail with bail set at $114,000.

The grand jury also returned indictments against the following:

  • Kevin Lamont Waller, 27, of Killeen, on a charge of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, 4 grams or more.
  • James Cody Bocanegra, 22, of Killeen, on a charge of possession of marijuana, 5 pounds or less.
  • Addison Michael Bullock, 25, of Harker Heights on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, 1 gram or more.
  • Eduardo Lee Salas Castillo, 25, of Killeen, on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
  • Vinson Lapaul Favers, 34, of Killeen, on a charge of tampering with physical evidence.
  • Natarsha Monique Taylor, 32, of Killeen, on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, habitual offender.
  • Quentin Raynard McIntyre Jr., 21, of Killeen, on a charge of burglary of a habitation, and a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.
  • Ray Alvin Taylor, 53, of Killeen, on a charge robbery.
  • Christopher Peter Byram, 25, of Rogers, on a charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon on licensed premises.
