A Harker Heights man was indicted on a felony charge Wednesday for allegedly threatening to kill a Killeen police officer.

Timothy Louis Perod, 56, was pulled over on suspicion of driving while intoxicated Nov. 23.

When the police officer asked him to exit the vehicle, Perod began to call the officer racial slurs, and threatened to “cut him up,” according to an arrest affidavit.

While being transported for a blood draw, Perod reportedly threatened the officer again, saying “I don’t know who you are, but I gonna find out and going to kill you.”

According to the affidavit, Perod also threatened to strangle the officer “like a pig.” Another police officer who reviewed video and audio recordings of the incident said Perod threatened the officer’s life about 10 times that night.
