Man indicted on sexual assault charge

BELTON — A Harker Heights man was indicted Wednesday on a sexual assault of a child charge. He was arraigned on the charge in August.

Juan Dedios Machuca Jr. was charged with sexually assaulting a victim younger than 14.

The incident allegedly happened about Aug. 1, 2012, and was brought forward to Killeen police after the victim told a sexual assault nurse examiner and an interviewer with the Children’s Advocacy Center, according to the arrest affidavit.

The victim said that there were three separate occasions in which an assault took place. She said the assaults happened when she was between 8 and 9 years old.

The vicim said Machuca threatened to kill her family if she told anyone.

After Machuca was arraigned, he was held on $100,000 bond by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.

The grand jury also indicted the following suspects on unrelated charges:

Tylik McClinton, 19, of Harker Heights, aggravated sexual assault.

William Rogers, 29, of Killeen, evading arrest with a vehicle.

Ryan Baldwin, 28, assault on a family or household member by strangulation.

Jessica Friedregill-Hasting, 28, possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram.

Mario Gadson, 27, possession of a controlled substance, over 4 grams.

Ayana Johnson, 24, possession of a controlled substance, over 4 grams.

Denairo Green, 45, possession of marijuana, 5 pounds or less.

Pedro Amaya, 31, possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram.
