Police arrested a 24-year-old man they say reached for a gun while involved in an argument at a Harker Heights nightclub Sunday night.

Anthony Dwayne Holmes was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon on licensed premises.

Holmes was at Club C-Roc when two security guards witnessed an altercation between several people, an arrest affidavit stated.

Witnesses told police Holmes said he had a gun in his car and began reaching into his vehicle.

Security guards detained Holmes, along with a passenger in the car.

Police found a .45-caliber handgun in the driver’s seat of the car. It had a bullet in the chamber, as well as a fully loaded magazine, the affidavit stated.

Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned Holmes on Monday and set his bail at $20,000.

Cooke also arraigned Laura Stone Karaba on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram. Karaba’s bail was set at $20,000.
