Man threatened to kill woman, Killeen police say

A 33-year-old man who police say broke into a woman’s home and threatened to kill her is being held in Bell County Jail.

Juan Alacan was charged with burglary of a habitation with bodily injury in connection with an incident on Tuesday in the 3200 block of Viewcrest in Killeen. Jail records indicated Alacan’s home of record is San Antonio.

Police received a call about a break-in about 6 p.m. Tuesday. When an officer arrived, he saw a man, later identified as Alacan, run into the residence while a woman yelled to the officer, “He is going to kill him,” according to an arrest affidavit. An officer ordered Alacan to the ground and detained him.

In interviews with police, the woman said Alacan banged on the door, forced a bedroom window open and entered her home, the affidavit stated.

Alacan then began searching the home for a man. During his search, he pushed and slapped the woman.

He retrieved two knives from the kitchen and told the woman he was going to kill her if she went outside, the affidavit stated.

Police said the home’s front door and a bathroom door were damaged.

Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned Alacan on Thursday, setting his bond at $100,000.

Cooke also arraigned Carl Monroe Grover, 43, on an unrelated charge of robbery. Grover’s bond was set at $100,000.
