COPPERAS COVE — A man accused of tripping a police officer remained in Coryell County Jail on Monday.

Timothy Lamar Brooks, 29, was arrested after he threatened to “shoot up the area” in the 1200 block of Urbantke Court, an arrest affidavit stated. Brooks resisted arrest and tripped one of the officers, who sustained abrasions and tears in her uniform, the affidavit stated. Justice to the Peace Bill Price on Saturday arraigned Brooks on a charge of assault against a public servant. Price set his bond at $25,000.

In an unrelated incident, Price arraigned Jose Montalvo on a charge of burglary of a building. Price set his bond at $5,000.

Montalvo was arrested after using a rock to break the glass in the front door of a business in the 500 block of Town Square, an arrest affidavit stated. He allegedly stole three frozen pizzas from the business.
