A man who fled Missouri after being charged in a shooting Sunday was arrested in Killeen on Tuesday.
Several law enforcement agencies assisted in the apprehension of Cortne Mantez Beasley, 25, at the residence of a family member.
Beasley is being held on three counts of assault in the first degree and three counts of armed criminal action in connection with the shooting of a man in Sikeston, Mo., on Sunday.
Sikeston police Lt. Jim McMillen said Beasley allegedly shot a man Sunday evening following a fight at a park.
After the fight ended, Beasley got a pistol and fired it several times at a car., McMillen said.
One of the shots hit a 21-year-old man in the leg. He is expected to recover from his injuries, McMillen said.
Police learned Beasley may had fled the state en route to a family member’s home in Killeen. Police arrested him as he arrived at the home.
Agencies involved included the U.S. Marshals Service and Texas Department of Public Safety.
Beasley is being held on a $100,000 cash only bond and is awaiting extradition to Missouri.
