Man, woman indicted on drug possession charges

BELTON — A man and woman were indicted on felony charges, after a search of their home turned up a cache of drugs and one gun.

A Bell County grand jury returned an indictment Wednesday on Tanika Lashawnda Martin, 30, and Lavido Montrey Singletary, 28, on a charge of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, 4 grams or more.

The grand jury also indicted Singletary, a repeat drug offender, on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to an arrest affidavit, the two were arrested after agents with the Bell County Organized Crime Unit searched a residence in the 4500 block of July Drive in Killeen, on a suspicion that Singletary was selling drugs.

A search of the residence netted about 73 grams of cocaine, 79 grams of marijuana, 5 grams of methamphetamine, 188 grams of promethazine codine and a 0.380 semi- automatic handgun, the affidavit stated.

Police also recovered three digital scales and a marijuana grinder.

Both Singletary and Martin were arrested.

According to the affidavit, Singletary was convicted in 2008 of possession of a controlled substance and sentenced to 18 months in state jail.

He is in Bell County Jail, and his total bail is more than $200,000 on multiple charges.

Martin also is in Bell County Jail, and her bail is set at $100,000.

The grand jury also returned indictments for the following individuals.

• Jeffery Lynn Mills, 61, of Nolanville, on a charge of indecency with a child by contact.

• Damani Tequan Johnson, 56, of Killeen, on a charge of robbery with bodily injury, habitual offender.

• Efrem Trevon Edwards, 18, of Harker Heights, on a charge of robbery with bodily injury.

• Carl Monroe Grover, 43, of Harker Heights, on a charge of robbery, habitual offender.

• Justin Harley Maples, 19, of Copperas Cove, on a charge of burglary of a habitation.

• Aaron Michael Velez, 17, of Copperas Cove, on a charge of burglary of a habitation.

• Trevor Kilpatrick, 17, of Copperas Cove, on a charge of burglary of a habitation.

• Tony Donnell Glover Jr., 24, of Killeen, on a charge of tampering with physical evidence.

• Kevin Antwan Campbell, 27, of Harker Heights, on a charge of evading

arrest with a motor vehicle, and a charge of possession of cocaine, less than 1 gram.

• Larry Darnell Reed, 27, of Killeen, on a charge of possession of cocaine, 1 gram or more, repeat offender.

• Wilfred Warren Sheppard, 47, of Killeen, on a charge of criminal mischief over $1,500.

• Marcus Terrell Ervin, 21, of Killeen, on a charge of robbery with bodily injury.

• Tyler Lee Richards, 25, of Copperas Cove, on a charge of robbery.

• Eric Lester Arthur, 31, of Killeen, on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

• Fredrick Lamont Miller Jr., 20, of Killeen, on a charge of evading arrest with a motor vehicle.

• Eddie Dean Shannon, 59, of Killeen, on a charge of deadly conduct.

• Edward Lee Selby, 57, of Harker Heights, on a charge of burglary of a building.

• Johnny Duane Martin, 53, of Killeen, on a charge of burglary of a building.

• Jordan Harris Pate, 31, of Copperas Cove, on a charge of burglary of a habitation.

• Aumunique Rashad Whitehead, 17, of Killeen, on two charges of burglary of a habitation.

• Diantis Lynn Roberts, 18, of Killeen, on a charge of burglary of a habitation.

• Brodrick Jarod Hill, 18, of Killeen, on a charge of burglary of a habitation.
