COPPERAS COVE — Police arrested two men suspected of burglarizing five cars after residents reported suspicious activity Thursday. Justice of the Peace Bill Price arraigned Dylan Brantley Cruce and Brandon Troy Cummings on Friday on five misdemeanor charges of burglary of a vehicle and theft. Price set their bonds at $30,000.
On Thursday, a resident in the High Chapparal area reported a suspicious vehicle at her neighbor’s home, an arrest affidavit stated. When officers arrived, the vehicle was gone, but it was spotted by a resident living in the Yaupon Street area.
Officers found the car and its occupants, Cummings and Cruce. While talking to the two men, an officer noticed a knife in the car. The knife was later determined to have been stolen, the arrest affidavit stated.
Cruce and Cummings are suspected of vehicle burglaries on High Chapparal Drive, Vista Circle, Terrace Drive, Yaupon Drive and Victoria Circle, according to Cove police documents.
