BELTON — Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Belton woman accused of not returning her 11-year-old daughter to her father in Killeen, who had legal custody.

Deputies charged Dominica Guerra Newcomb Theriot, 36, with interference with child custody.

According to the Bell County Sheriff’s Department, Theriot had custody of her daughter throughout the summer, but was ordered by a court to return the child to her father at the end of August.

The father contacted the sheriff’s department and told deputies Theriot had failed to return the child or enroll her in school, a news release stated. On Wednesday, deputies arrested Theriot at a home on Denman’s Loop in Belton without incident. Deputies took custody of the child and returned her to her father in Killeen. Justice of the Peace Theodore R. Duffield arraigned Theriot, setting her bond at $100,000. Theriot remained in Bell County Jail on Friday.
